Society of Women Engineers
I’ve been an Executive Board member of the Tulane chapter of the Society of Women Engineers for my entire time in college! I started my journey as the Freshman Representative, knowing that this was an organization I wanted to pour my heart into, and I am now the President as a senior.
I have so much love for this organization, and I plan to stay involved with SWE and leadership throughout my professional career. I’ve planned and ran events from slime destressers, to complex outreach and fundraising events, to professional development workshops and technical sessions. Being a part of this organization has been some of my favorite moments of college, and it has taught me incredible leadership skills!
As a sophomore, I flew to LA and attended SWE conference for the first time, in the group of 8 students that were funded, and as President, I got to led a group of over 50 SWE members to conference! See above for a photo of our group at conference, just being a small fraction of our 200 member club.
Check out the photos below to see some of the cool events that I’ve put on!
Our yearly Pi a Prof event, where we've raised over $1000 in just a week! Dr. Gelfand, our circuits and electronics professor has been most voted to be pied for two years in a row... I wonder why...
Our keychains, charm bracelets, and earrings event! We laser cut acrylic and 3D print designs for cool charms. (all designed by me!)
Our Bob Ross Paining Night! This is me, proudly holding my creation.
Volunteering for GiST and BaTS! Here's our morning scavenger hunt activity table – we change it up, but this one was blowing up a balloon with vinegar and baking soda!
My presentation at a Career Fair 101 Event, aimed to prep students for Tulane SSE's first ever Career Fair!
Our yearly Women in Engineering Panel, attracting nearly 100 students to hear about the experiences of industry professionals.
