Tulane Makerspace
I’ve worked in the Tulane Makerspace for almost 3 years now as a Fabrication Technician! It is a completely student-run space on campus, where we have laser-cutters, 3D printers, a full metal and wood shop, and CNC machines available to the entire Tulane community.
As a FabTech, I teach students and all other Tulane affiliates to use the 3D printers and laser cutters, and I also help out with projects where I can. I am also the CNC Mill Specialist, where I train all students and Tulane affiliates on the machine, and I have even helped out with some professor projects on the Mill.
I am extremely familiar with our shop, and I’ve cleaned out and organized the space many times (no small feat), and I even created a catalogue for all the miscellaneous items and donations we have. When I’m not just working, I use the space in every small way I can, from laser-cutting holiday decoration, to soldering a ring back together, to making organization tools for my house, to laser-engraving gifts for friends.
Our Tormach 4-Axis CNC Mill! I spend a lot of time with this machine, mainly doing my 3 hour long trainings.
Our array of Bambu 3D printers. I spend a lot of time helping people print on these, as well as troubleshooting errors.

Some small halloween decorations I made in the Makerspace for my house.
A homemade disco ball that I made in the makerspace!
